We wrapped up the course of my birthday with my first Broadway show, which made me realize how little I got to experience New York the few years that I’ve lived there. I was too busy working and studying as a college student at the time — too busy, and too broke LOL — so I was really happy to finally check some of these things off my New York bucket list. We decided on a Broadway classic, The Phantom of the Opera, which we went to on a happy and full stomach after dining at The View Restaurant inside the Marriott Marquis. It was a special visit for my mom as well, since she got to return after having coffee at the lounge nearly thirty years ago during her youth.

It was a beautiful restaurant and such a perfect spot for our pre-broadway show dinner with its location in the heart of the theater district of Times Square. What is special about the restaurant is that the revolving feature offers a 360 degree panoramic view of the skyline. The romantic atmosphere made it a great place to celebrate a birthday. Would make a good date or anniversary spot too!
Overall we had an amazing experience here, from the service to the food. We loved our server, who was so nice to take a million pictures for us (which I’m sure she is used to haha) and provided us with friendly and attentive service. My mom is a notoriously picky eater with a blatant tendency to complain, but this was one of those rare moments where I didn’t have to tell her to chill! She was very satisfied with the food here and would give it five stars! As for me, I am very serious about dessert, and the dessert here was delightful. It made me very happy haha.
Couple of notes before I get to the food pics:
-reservations are recommended
-dress policy is business casual
Our food (sorry for the dim exposure!):

I have an insatiable sweet tooth and always have to eat something sweet after dinner, especially at a fine dining restaurant… I gave myself some room to go crazy on my birthday haha.
